“As more families choose to partner with us for their children’s education, we are committed to providing an environment that fosters both academic excellence and Biblical truth,” said Matt Baker, head of school. “This campaign will allow us to serve even more students and continue to expand our impact for years to come.”
Dayton Christian is the most rapidly growing private school in the Dayton area, according to a Dayton Daily News analysis.
Dayton Christian spokeswoman Julie Thompson said a study done by the school showed enrollment could increase by 10% in 2025-2026, and could reach up to 1,500 students, but to do that, they will need additional space. The school currently teaches about 1,280 students from preschool through 12th grade.
The athletic and performing arts center will include a gym, chapel and theater, as well as a 2,700 square foot weight room for the school’s athletic programs, the school said. The center is expected to cost about $4 million.
The athletic field will be a full-sized soccer, football and track field for the school to host events on-site. The cost is expected to be about $3 million.
The school says students currently have to travel up to 20 minutes for practices and home games. About 80% of the school’s high school student body participates in at least one sport.
Thompson said the school will not need to purchase additional land for this project.
